iPhone vs. Android

10 Points-of-Difference (PODs) You Must Consider Before Purchasing Any Smartphone from The Above

You are about to buy a Smartphone, but there is some confusion in your mind because of which you are unable to decide which Smartphone is better, whether iPhone or Android? Whenever you are going to purchase Smartphone, choosing between iPhone and Android has been very much difficult, because they both offer great quality and features, and Amazingly awesome Design, though if you look them closely you may find some key differences, the major differences can be analyzed to see which one is better, lets take a look onto these 10 factors;
1. Hardware/Software:

The First Point-of-Difference (POD) for iPhone is their Hardware and Software. As we know it very well that iPhones are exclusively produced by Apple only, providing it with the smooth interdependent work of software and Hardware together. While, Google offers the Android software to many phone makers like Samsung, HTC, LG, and Motorola etc; As a result, Android phones fluctuate quite a bit as far as quality of hardware and software is considered.
It is not infrequent to heed that some Android phones recurrently overheat or ice up or that some of the models lack quality. iPhone is exclusive of these all issues.
Winner: Apple

2. Apps:

The iPhone App Store offers about 521,374 applications, while the Android Market offers about 425,000 (As of April 2012). Apple is notoriously strict about what apps it allows and how it changes its policies, while Google’s values for Android are rather more slipshod. Many Apps developers have complained about the prominence on free apps for Android and the intricacy of developing for so many diverse Smartphone models. That’s why not all the best apps make their way to Androids.
Winner: Apple, but not by much

3. Gaming: An Expanding Market Share

Recently, video gaming and in particular mobile video gaming was dominated by Nintendo’s DS and Sony’s PSP. Nintendo’s DS and Sony’s PSP did not get much time to enjoy their huge dominance in the market as iPhone emerged as a major player in mobile gaming market, with tens of thousands of amazing games. The expansion of iPhone as a gaming platform, in actuality, has led various observers to conjecture that Apple is well on its way to eclipsing Nintendo and Sony as the leading mobile game podium.
Well Android has its reasonable share of games; but it is crystal clear that the iPhone has a understandable advantage at this point.
Winner: Apple

4. GPS Navigation: At No Cost

Now days we can see GPS apps on many phones, even on the Nokia E-Series and Nokia N-Series etc, but the GPS apps on iPhone and Android differ from these Nokia E-Series and Nokia N-Series quite well. And also iPhone and Android differ from each other in GPS apps. And while both platforms support GPS apps that can provide drivers turn-by-turn instructions for directions, solely one has a high-quality, vocal turn-by-turn GPS app that’s also at no cost: Android.
Android users can exploit Google Maps Navigation, an app that’s not obtainable for iPhone, to get at no cost turn-by-turn instructions for directions. Whereas there are lots of further GPS apps for both, there’s no corresponding at no cost app for iPhone.
Winner: Android

5. Flash: Android All The Way!

The makers of Android tablets shout it out that their devices run Flash. If tablets using Android can scamper Flash, will Android phones be able to do the same in some near future?
It’s inflexible to say. Some Android phones aren’t as potent as Android tablets, so even if Flash comes to the phones, it’s likely some won't be able to use it. And for those that do, the experience may not be great: many reviewers have pointed out that Flash doesn’t work tremendously well on Android tablets and that it drains batteries quickly.
While, the iPhone notably doesn’t run Flash and possibly never will, lack of Flash restricts the iPhone from viewing some web content; many sites have alternate versions that work with the iPhone. So, iPhone users do fail to spot some of the web.
Winner: No winner. There are no good options here right now

6. Battery Life: Steady Improvement

Battery life is a very important factor to consider, especially for the business personals, because they must know how long they can have their phones working with them; for the reason that greater diversity of hardware is used in Android phones, Android’s battery time is more speckled and, on usual, less than the iPhone’s. With latest models of iPhone from Apple, it’s trouble-free to go days with no need of recharge. Android phones run so many battery exhaustive apps, and have so much disparity, that day-to-day recharge is required on regular.
Winner: Apple

7. Network Carriers:

The iPhone is only accessible on AT&T, Sprint, and Verizon.
As there are many Android phones from many makers, you can also catch Android phones that work on any of the U.S.’s four major phone carriers: AT&T, Verizon, Sprint, and T-Mobile. So, if you’re already a T-Mobile consumer or just want utmost suppleness, Android ought to be your preference.
Winner: Android, for now

8. User Customization: Extendable Memory/Exchangeable Batteries/Do what you Want

In iPhone there’s no user customization option, which means that customers can’t replace their batteries themselves when expired, they have to take it to Apple for the replacement of batteries, with which all of your stored data also gets wiped out; Also customers can’t upgrade their storage too. On the other hand, Android is open to user customization, implicating that users can modify both phones’ memory and battery.
Winner: Android

9. User Experience: Customization vs. Ease-of-Use

Android  must be the choice for those who love User Customization and openness in sense of customizing their phones, Android has great value in this factor as compared to iPhone, while Apple has too much focused on simplicity and ease of use, because of which they were unable to provide users with customization(which most users love to have).
Winner: Android

10. 4G and LTE

The iPhone 4 is a 3G phone and Apple has no 4G attuned phones in the market. 4G guarantees download speeds of up to 10 times that of 3G networks. Android has the 4G EVO and soon to be released Motorola Bionic, as well as a few others soon to be released. There is no doubt that Apple has released a new iPhone 4S, which at starting showed up a 3G sign, then iPhones using AT&T showed up a 4G sign while iPhone with other networks still show 3G sign.
Winner: Android
FINALLY…
The decision of whether to buy an iPhone or Android phone isn’t as easy as toting up the winners above and selecting the phone that triumphed in additional criterions, because these all criterions won’t reckon for the equivalent value to all people.

My choice is Android. Because I love freedom and Android gives me that(User Customization), iPhone has focused on the simplicity and ease-of-use, but their too much focus on simplicity and ease-of-use has led them to take away User Customization from their Customers, with iPhone you can do how much Apple allows you, with Android there are no limits.
Those stuck between iPhone and Android, should know that both Androids and iPhone are Awesome phones, and your decision should be based not on brainy marketing but on how handy and functional the phone will be.
